Ladies Inter Club: Hard luck to the Boyne Cup team who were beaten by an excellent New Ross team despite a gallant effort.

Bluebell Scramble: Our annual Bluebell Scramble was held on Friday last in glorious sunshine. 21 ladies took part. Winners were Joan Brennan, Patricia Brennan and Eileen Gunner . 2nd was Eithne Murphy Kk, LC Mgt OKeeffe and Una Whelan.
Peugeot Qualifier: 1 Maria Downey, Betty Owens, LC Mgt O’Keeffe,  Theresa Manning. Castlecomer 89 Pts b9, 2 Kathleen Hogan,  Mary Rice,  Mary Murphy, Marie Kennedy. Kilkenny 89 Pts. Congratulations Ladies!

BLUEBELL SCRAMBLE Castlecomer golf club invites all lady golfers to Castlecomer for an 11 hole BLUEBELL scramble. Draw for teams is at 10am. All ladies golfer are invited to Castlecomer to play golf and enjoy the numerous bluebells on the course.

LOTTO: In the draw on Monday 30th April there was no winner of the lotto jackpot of €10,000. The numbers drawn were 3, 12, 17 and 27. Next week’s jackpot is €10,200.

CASTLECOMER GOLF CLUB TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP 2018 LAUNCH!

Attending the launch were Captain Seamie Brennan, Gerry Reynolds from Castlecomer Credit Union (Main Sponsors), Lady Captain Margaret O’Keeffe and President Hanora Fogarty. This wonderful event will run for 4 days over the weekend of 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th of May. Tee times are filling up FAST with Friday already full and only limited availability on Saturday and Sunday. Thursday 17th has been added and tee times are available from 2.00pm.

All smiles at the Ladies presentation night. Included are Margaret O’Keeffe, Joan Costigan, Ann Ring, Hanora Fogarty, Delia O’Donoghue, Mary Brophy, Maureen Norton, Maria Downey, Helen Dunne, Patricia Doheny and Betty Byrne.

GARDENING NIGHT, 10th May: A date for our diary- spread the word summer is arriving. On MAY 10th  at 8pm in the clubhouse, David and Mary (Countrylife, Castlecomer ) will host an evening on how to get the most out of your garden. Bring a few friends along  for a night of gardening and fun.

Ladies Presentation Night is this Tuesday 24th April after the Scramble, the draw for which takes place between 5.00 and 6.00pm. Even if you are not receiving a prize, please come along and support the scramble and social evening.

 

Clothes recycling /Spring clean your house
A joint clothes recycling collection with Sos Castlecomer will take place over MAY bank holiday. Drop your old clothes into the golf club -ladies and gents locker rooms, or the SOS Castlecomer between now and Tuesday 8th May.
Scramble
All golfers, aspiring golfers, juniors and student golfers please note that the scramble is back. It happens every TUESDAY at 5pm.
Inter club Team competitions
The junior foursomes took on Athy in Abbyleix. Nuala mahon and Emma Walsh , Theresa Manning and Margaret o keeffe won their matches. Betty Owens & Maureen Norton were all flat on the 17 when they were called in.
Next week the junior cup team play Bunclody at 2pm in Gowran
