HAVE YOU TRIED GOLF? Members are requested to attend a meeting on Friday 8th June in the Clubhouse at 8pm to, hopefully, be a contributor, supporter and active participant in the promotion of the wonderfully healthy pastime of golf for a friend, family member, former sportsman or someone totally new to sport who, maybe, would appreciate being invited to play a friendly round of golf in conjunction with tuition and encouragement and follow up. This could be your opportunity to invest in the future of the game in Castlecomer while extending the welcoming hand to someone. Definitely a win win situation both for the guest and the Club. The 170 acre course is waiting to reveal its charm, beauty and challenge to a new audience. No greater gift can a man give than to redirect a friend to the beautiful game of golf! Your moment is nigh! The fine  meal afterwards with opposing players sitting alongside each other and the ensuing banter summed up the success of the trip to a beautiful course on, to date, the most sun-splashed pleasant evening of the year. Chauffeur driven in a 1980 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, (courtesy of Mr. Ned Kelly) sipping champagne en route, proceedings were more akin to a royal wedding than a sporting occassion!  Once the golf got underway, the good conditions ensured a high scoring day.
