Also Congratulations to the ladies Intermediate cup team who were victorious in Athy over Portarlington. The will no play the Curragh at the Heritage next month. The Team wereBetty Byrne, Helen Murphy, Ita Madigan, Caroline Conway and Jacinta Culliton.

Congratulations to both the Barton Cup and the Irish Mixed Foursomes teams who both had fantastic wins over the weekend.

The Barton Cup Team won all three matches at home against Newbridge while the two away matches were called in. Castlecomer will play the winners of Craddockstown Vs Dunmurry Springs in the next round.

The Irish Mixed Foursomes Team had a comprehensive win over Kilkenny. It was very tense and a great win.

LADIES: This week saw the start of the inter club ladies competitions.

The minor team had a great win over Portlaoise in Abbeyleix on Monday last with Delia O Donoghue sealing victory in the last match. They play Rathdowney in the next round.  The Challenge team fought a great battle on Thurs day but unfortunately were not able to secure victory.

This is the end of their involvement but well done to Mary Corcoran, Marjie Gannon, Margaret Conway, Margaret O’Keeffe and Jean Jackman.

Hard Luck also to Margaret Furlong and Maria Downey on losing in the Daily Mail competition against Mountrath.  Results of Peugeot Qualifier; Congrats to Mary Brophy and Caroline Conway who qualified for the area final on July 26 in the Hermitage Golf Club in Dublin.
